Thank you so, so much to all the staff at Avonvale for looking after our beautiful greyhound Penny for an emergency illness recently. Everyone was so kind and showed so much concern, with regular updates and patience to explain everything that was happening at a very scary time for us. Big shout out to group nursing manager Anna for all her calmness and care for Penny and making sure she came back to us healthy and well - we are so grateful to have her home with us eating snacks on the sofa again!

Best vets ever we had Tilly and when it was time to pass away they were so caring and when they closed we was still there, the staff are 100000000000% caring and lovely and if we have another pet then we will be coming back there xx

Worst vets ever. I waited until I was in the right place to put this as my mental health has been rocky. I never thought that a Veterinary centre and their head vet could affect my mental health, but my GP explained that they can. Let me explain from the beginning starting with our first pet who got ill and need urgent care and treatment. Our son’s cat got ill when my son was in his teens we took our cat to Avonvale Wellesbourne when they said he was dying and sent him home. He got worse as he lost a lot of weight and he was not diagnosed with anything. In the end, they took him by ambulance to Warwick and in the early hours we got a call saying the he was so ill that he had to be put to sleep. The worst care any vet can give a cat as it nearly broke our special needs son. Also at Wellesbourne, one of the male veterinary assistants said that our male dog was over weight. About 3 1/2 to 4 years ago, I asked for advice as my dog was a bit snappy when we went near him as he could have been pain or he could of needed a bit of calm tlc and some work to help him as he had PTSD. A female vet recommended to get a trainer or to put him to sleep. As I made a complaint and said how I felt on this, they kicked us out of the practice. We are now with a wonderful vets practice and they sent links to help our dog and he’s made great progress and no mention was made to putting him to sleep as this was never needed. Also, they weighed our male dog and surprise, his weight is bang on like it always has been. I can only urge owners to go to a different vet than Avonvale Vets as they clearly do not care about animals or how people feel when they coldly suggest to put our dog to sleep for absolutely no reason. We now have another dog and both our dogs are thriving and doing well. Next time Avonvale head vets, please listen as you clearly never take the time to listen to the owners and because of this, you affected my mental health in the worst way. Also, getting pets is like having children, you wouldn’t put a child to sleep if they misbehaved, then why suggest it about our beautiful dog. You knew about his past as I told you all. It was put in his notes and no one checked them. That is bad practice. Now I write this as you guys need to learn to spot signs of dementia as after leaving your vets, we joined a wonderful practice and they got to know Deano. Like us, they observed our beautiful boy. They explained to me that he may have dementia as we saw signs and they also did. Sadly no x-rays or scans can confirm it. He was put on meds to control it, but he got more snappy and he howled through the night and paced more. They upped his meds, but after a while he howled even more, paced and snapped at us as a family and kennel staff. Last year, June 10th we took Deano in for his appointment and discussed with the vets the options for him and sadly we all agreed that it was time for Deano to go over the rainbow bridge. This should have been done with you guys if you took the time to notice the signs of dementia. You badly let Deano down and us as owners. He never was a bad dog or misbehaved, he was ill and you did absolutely nothing to help him. To all owners of animals, AVOID this veterinary practice as they only think about profit and not the animals with their owners. We 100% miss our boy as he had dementia, so no trainer was ever needed for him or for him to be euthanised straight away. Our dog got the best possible treatment and care towards the end and we as owners was treated with love and respect. Try this Avonvale as you just might get it back. You have truly lost us and care for our animals as you never listened and I now fear for other animals as you guys are so bloody quick to judge.

My dog is a new patient at the surgery. The experience from call to treatment made me and my pet relax. I felt informed and confident in the vet. He was wagging his tail when normally he tries to escape from the vet.

Tula has been so happy since being diagnosed and treated by Katie and the rest of the team! She was a rescue, left for almost 2 years because of her breathing difficulties, but after 6 months, she's so happy!
